About Us
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Matt Rocheleau spent his youth on the waters of Cape Cod fishing and digging for clams in Falmouth’s Great Pond.
OUR STORY
He Turned His Passion Into A Small Business
When he realized that the demand for fresh clams was high, he turned his passion into a small business, bringing his sought-after catches to Boston’s famous fish pier and to a handful of Cape Cod’s local restaurants including the beloved Chart Room.
Soon after humbling beginnings, Matt met Sue and fell in love. They took their young family to Chatham, Massachusetts, where the clams were bountiful and offered the highest quality in all of New England. Matt bought a refrigerated truck, enlisted the business skills of his new bride and The Clam Man was born.
THE CLAM MAN TODAY
Four kids and two decades later, Sue and Matt are still the heart and soul of The Clam Man.
OUR STORY
A Multitude Of Well-refrigerated Trucks Deliver The Company’s Fresh Seafood
Four kids and three decades later, Sue and Matt are still the heart and soul of The Clam Man. A multitude of well-refrigerated trucks deliver the company’s fresh seafood to restaurants seven days a week. This volume, coupled with the daily catches, allow for fresh seafood of a wide variety to be housed daily in the retail store. Matt works hard behind the impeccably clean glass counters, unless he steps to the front to greet customers with his signature booming voice and a smile. He can locate any fish, from anywhere in the world, on a day’s notice. His son Marc works alongside him in the family business prepping restaurant orders out back, helping out in retail, working with local chefs, and purchasing seafood! Together, they keep the business running smoothly. Sue spends her days managing the business, working side by side with staff and clients and ensures that all needs are met. Customer feedback is tantamount to the Clam Man’s success, and the family takes pride in its reputation.
